Dr. Jurgita Baranauskienė home university is Research Institute for Bioeconomy, Bioeconomy Development Faculty, Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy. Her main research area is: Finance and Financial decisions, Valuation of investment and investment risk, Valuation of social benefits created by public projects and social welfare, Valuation of effectiveness of European innovation partnership in agriculture. She was engaged as a project manager or project coordinator into many national or international projects, which scope was to develop the methodology for evaluation of innovation partnership efficiency in agriculture and to test the created methodology on selected innovation partnership groups or e.g. was targeting at development of entrepreneurship among young rural people in Mali to improving their socio- economic situation and thus preventing emigration. Dr. Jurgita Baranauskienė visited many European universities, among others Estonian University of Life Science, Ghent University (Belgium), Latvia University of Agriculture.
